About
The name is unconventional. The way we work is straightforward.
Absurd Technologies is a founder-led software studio in New York. We work with founders and operating teams when generic tools no longer fit, a new product needs experienced technical leadership, or existing software needs a steadier future.
Our presence
Headquartered in New York, connected across Asia.
Absurd Technologies is headquartered in New York, United States, with a Singapore branch and a network of branches and partnerships in India and Japan.
Origin story
Too many software projects begin with a preferred technology, a long feature list, and a promise to move fast. Only later does the team discover that the real workflow was misunderstood, the first release was too large, or the system is difficult to operate.
We start by learning where the work breaks down and what a useful change would mean. The people helping to define the project stay close to the interface, architecture, and code. We chose the name because building software can become absurd when process replaces judgment.
Studio model
Small by design, senior where it matters.
Every engagement has a senior technical lead who remains involved from discovery through delivery. We assemble a focused team around the actual work, adding product design, application engineering, infrastructure, data, or AI expertise only when the project requires it.
Clients speak directly with the people doing the work. Meetings have a purpose, progress is demonstrated in working software, and risks are discussed while there is still time to act on them.
What guides the work
What clients can expect from us.
Understand before estimating
Before estimating screens and features, we learn where time is being lost and what a successful change would mean.
Decisions stay visible
You see working software early, hear the reasoning behind decisions, and know what is changing from week to week.
Built to hold up
We favor readable code, documented decisions, and sensible architecture that another capable engineer can continue.
Earn trust with accurate communication
We do not hide uncertainty or wait for a polished presentation to share difficult news. An early, honest conversation is usually cheaper than a late surprise.
Why we built the studio
The kind of software partner we would choose ourselves.
We built the kind of studio we would hire: one that listens before proposing, lets clients speak directly with the people making the product, and treats maintainability as part of delivery rather than an optional cleanup task.
Software is rarely the whole problem. It sits inside a real organization, with existing habits, deadlines, risks, and people who need to trust the result. Our best work happens when we understand that environment and build only what earns its place in it.
Tell us where the work gets stuck.
You do not need a finished specification. Bring the current process, the constraints, and the outcome you are trying to reach.
